The Great Pumpkin

We are busy getting ready for Halloween and Caroline has been busy at school. Last week she completed the transition to Room 2, which included taking her lunch in a lunch box for the first time. She proudly carried it down the hall. Now that we are into the fall wardrobe she is looking very stylish and wearing her school shoes! We are pleased to report that she has been taking daily naps in her new class, which has given her a little more oomph in the evenings.

The highlight of our weekend was going to the pumpkin patch and taking a hayride. I just loved it and I liked telling everyone about all the "muddy goo" that the tractor drove through. Caroline enjoyed the ride, but then got tired and squirmy. I liked picking out my very own pumpkin and Caroline thought the "ball" was cool.

On Sunday afternoon we painted them and we came up with all sorts of clever decorating ideas. We made one pink pumpkin for Caroline and we did another one purple and sparkly. I think we will carve our big one out next week.

We capped the weekend off with a yummy lasagna dinner. Caroline thinks it's funny when we tell her not to put her hands in her hair while she's eating-- and of course does it even more while laughing her head off. She had so much lasagna in her hair that even after a bath and thorough shampooing, she still smelled half like Johnson & Johnson and half like oregano. After she went to bed we took a walk to see the "scary spider house" and then ate our caramel apples.
